I stayed at the Varkala Marine Palace at the end of February and could not rate it highly enough. The hotel is right on the beach, with beautiful dark wood bedrooms. Our bedroom had a huge traditionally carved balcony looking out to sea, and a spotless outdoor shower. In front of the balcony cascaded a mass of orchids which were growing in the trees there. The rooms are kept immaculately clean and the mattresses are think and comfortable. The sheets crisp and bright white. The owner, Bhasker, is always about and always smiling. There is literally nothing I would change about this place. It felt like a home from home.

We stayed 3 weeks at Varkala Marine Palace. It was recommended to us as a good place with a great location and we can only agree. Bhasker, Jai and the rest of the staff were attentive and very helpful. The few things we found that needed attention were quickly taken care off. The breakfast was delicious and generous, cooked by the talented and friendly chef. Our room, High End Traditional double, was spacious with a huge, comfortable bed and great veranda. The beautiful hotel garden lead to Varkala beach where a handful of restaurants can be found. The bulk of the restaurants/shops a short 10 minutes walk at the cliff top.

The hotel is peaceful right next to the beach and a short walking distance away from the cliff. There is a very nice restaurant on site with lovely beach view and if your are lucky the host will sing karaoke for you in the evening. The room had a big bathroom with hot water and a small kitchen with fridge. Big comfortable bed and Wifi which worked perfect.
The staff  was friendly and very helpful.

For the second year in a row, we spent some of our time in India at Varkala Marine Palace Hotel. We came back as the owner and staff are very friendly, going out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The location is right on the beach which is beautiful, as it affords the breeze, which is a must at this time of year. The accommodation and grounds of the hotel are very well kept, with much attention to detail.
This hotel is a must if travelling to Varkala.
